How I Can Help As Representative of the Missouri 7th District and Why

Hi, my name is John Kennedy. As a resident of the Lampe area I have seen the economic conditions deteriorate in recent years. I have seen, first hand, people struggle to find adequate work and struggle to make ends meet. But this just isn't happening in the Lampe area or the 7th district or the state of Missouri; this is the state of our nation. It is the duty of congress to introduce, amend and pass legislation to protect and enhance the lives of the citizens. Instead too many elected officials are involved in name calling and spinning the issues without legislating. Additionally, and more important, excessive amounts of corporate, PAC (Political Action Committee), and special interest money is determining the legislation in our congress. It is very easy to determine which congressional members are receiving money from special interests, PACs, and big business, just follow the votes.

I have decided to enter the race for U.S. Representative, 7th District Missouri as an Independent. I, like many, have grown weary of the political parties, the lack of progress, the callous disregard of the citizens, stalling tactics and especially the big money mess our capitol has become. I will not accept corporate, PAC, or special interest donations. I will be obligated only to the citizens and small businesses of the 7th district of Missouri. I will explain the pros and cons of pending legislation and the effects it will have in clear concise language. I will act and vote as directed by the voters of 7th District. My slogan says it all: For A Positive New Direction Of Representation

I firmly believe that every congressional member is responsible to represent the people in their district or states without compromise. Most congressional members forget that they are representing the people. I have often heard congressional members asked about their stand on particular issues. Their answer always begins with "I think". Their opinions on all these issues is not important, but yours are. What are important are the opinions, suggestions, ideas, desires and concerns of the citizens in the 7th District.

Lincolnsm.gif - 5109 BytesAs President Lincoln stated so eloquently "that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth." Unfortunately, we are not being represented in our best interests by our elected officials in Washington. Big business, special interests, PACs and even the mainstream political parties have taken over the political process. Big money is ruining our system. Many politicians are taking big corporate cash, PAC money, your donations and asking for your vote, only to represent their big donors.

I will make these promises. I will always represent the citizens of the 7th District in accordance with their position on the issues always. I will always conduct my duties, both public and private, with adherence to the highest moral standards. I will be a Representative the citizens will be proud of. I will be very happy to meet with any individual, group, organization or church to discuss your ideas, needs and desires.

I need your help now! My initial step in running as an Independent candidate in order to be placed on the ballot for the November 2nd, 2010 election is to obtain 7,500 signatures of District 7 registered voters.
